Data sources and licences

InSite doesn't hold its own copy of most of this data. Each report queries the publisher's own service when you search, so what you see is the publisher's current data, under the publisher's own licence. This page lists every source, who publishes it, and the licence it states. Most are published as open data under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence (CC BY 4.0), which allows reuse provided the source is credited. The attributions are below.

Protected structures and conservation areas, by council

There's no national register of protected structures. Each council keeps its own in its development plan. InSite reads the council's own published layer where there is one, and otherwise the copy on the Heritage Council's Heritage Maps, which may lag the current plan. Most of these layers don't state a licence. We show them for information, credited to their publisher. Check the council's own development plan before relying on any entry. Not yet covered: Longford, Sligo, Westmeath and Wexford.
